Amrumbank West E.ON

Amrumbank West is one of the three offshore wind farms scheduled to be constructed by E.ON in the coming two years in North Sea and Baltic Sea. A total of 80 wind turbines will be constructed over an area of around 32 square kilometres from autumn this year. The state-of-the-art 3.6 megawatt structures will generate a total output of 288 megawatts, and will thus be able to power up to 300,000 households. As a result, more than 740,000 tons CO2 will be saved every year.

With an investment volume of more than one million Euro Amrumbank West should become operational in the summer of 2015.

From autumn 2013 the 80 to 300 ton heavy steel foundation of the mono-pile type should be piled in the sea floor. The Dutch installation vessel “MPI Adventure” will be used for this purpose. BEKA BBC will be used as the noise mitigation device.
